Issuing a taxi driver's permit, and obtaining or renewing driving licences in categories C, D, and DE
To apply for professional permits (taksinkuljettajan ajolupa, liikenneopettajalupa), obtain or renew driving licenses in categories C1, C1E, C, CE, D1, D1E, D, DE (group 2) after the age of 45, you will need a medical certificate from a doctor.
The medical certificate can be basic or extended.

Submitting a Medical Certificate to Traficom
We provide a medical certificate (form F122) required for a driving licence. The certificate is stored in the Kanta system, allowing you to authorize Traficom or Ajovarma to retrieve the information directly through their online service. In this case, you do not need to submit a paper copy. A printed copy of the certificate is also available upon request.
You must provide the medical certificate to the police if it concerns a scheduled health monitoring check for a driver.

As part of a medical examination, the doctor checks, among other things, vision, hearing, blood pressure, physical and functional abilities, as well as the presence of illnesses and medications taken that may affect the ability to drive a car.
If your health condition affects your ability to drive, Traficom requires a medical certificate. We store the certificate in the Kanta system, from which you can authorize Traficom to retrieve the information directly — without submitting a paper copy.
In most cases, no. We store the medical certificate in the Kanta system, and you can authorize Traficom’s e-service or Ajovarma to access it directly from there. In this case, you do not need to submit the certificate in paper form. If you wish, you can also receive a printed copy.
Please note that in cases of driving fitness monitoring, you must personally submit the medical certificate to the police.
