Infertility treatments
Infertility treatments always start from diagnostic tests, the aim of which is to determine the causes of infertility.
The optimal time for the tests is the 5th to 10th day of the menstrual cycle.
The package of diagnostic tests includes:
- Gynaecological examination, taking of anamnesis (information about hereditary and chronic diseases, surgical procedures, menstrual cycle etc.)
- Small pelvic ultrasonography with uterine sonography provides the opportunity to determine the patency of the fallopian tubes, the size and shape of the uterus, the existence, height and quality of muscular tumors, i.e., myomas. In addition, it provides information about the condition of the ovaries, the growth of follicles, and the existence of cysts or endometriosis.
- Hormone studies determine the concentrations of follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone, different fractions of prolactin, estrogen, progesterone, anti-Müller hormone (provides information about ovarian reserves) as well as thyroid hormones.
- As a standard part of the study, complete blood count is also included, as well as tests for inflammation markers and liver values.
In the case of a comorbid disease, other samples may also be taken. Remember to bring any medical documents you have that the doctor might find useful for diagnosis. You can familiarize yourself with the price list here.
